Gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL)

CAS Number: 96-48-0

Gamma-butyrolactone (GBL, ≥99.5%) is a cyclic ester with high polarity, excellent solvency, and good thermal stability, used as a solvent in lithium-ion battery electrolytes, pharmaceutical synthesis, and as a raw material for N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) and pyrrolidone production. Its low freezing point makes it suitable for electrolyte applications at low temperatures.
