N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) is a polar aprotic solvent with exceptional solvency power used in agrochemical EC, ME, and SL formulations for active ingredients with poor solubility in conventional aromatic solvents. It is particularly valued for solubilizing highly concentrated herbicides, fungicides, and systemic insecticides while maintaining chemical stability at high active ingredient loadings. NMP also acts as a penetration enhancer that improves cuticular uptake of foliar-applied actives.
