Thiophanate-Methyl Benzimidazole Fungicide

CAS Number: 23564-05-8

Thiophanate-methyl is a systemic benzimidazole precursor fungicide that is converted within plant tissues to the active carbendazim (MBC), inhibiting fungal β-tubulin polymerization and preventing cell division. It provides systemic curative and protective activity against a broad range of Ascomycetes and Deuteromycetes including Botrytis, Fusarium, Cercospora, and Sclerotinia. Thiophanate-methyl is widely used as a seed treatment, foliar spray, and soil drench in vegetable, fruit, and field crop production.
