Mepiquat Chloride Cotton Growth Regulator

CAS Number: 24307-26-4

Mepiquat chloride (1,1-dimethylpiperidinium chloride) is a piperidinium-type plant growth regulator used primarily in cotton production to control excessive vegetative growth, reduce plant height, increase compactness, and improve boll retention and fiber quality. It inhibits gibberellin biosynthesis, reducing internode elongation and channeling photosynthate into reproductive development. Mepiquat chloride is the active ingredient in Pix, the world's most widely used cotton growth regulator.
